Bucheon City will be providing training for employees on how to better promote the work of UNESCO Creative City.
The education program is being held at Sangdong Library from August 17th until September 28th for a total of 7 times and about 40 people will be attending. The attendees work for City Hall and culture and education related organizations in Bucheon.
Five speakers, including HAN kyung-Gu who is a professor at Seoul National University and the chairman of the UNESCO Literature Creative City Committee, will be giving lectures.
It’s expected to increase understanding of UNESCO Creative City projects and networks by explaining the concept of Creative Cities more in depth, SDGs (goals of sustainable development) presented by UNESCO and the current status of UNESCO’s Creative City activities.
According to one city official the training will be a cornerstone for raising awareness of UNESCO’s Creative City projects and help them realize their vision together.

Meanwhile, Bucheon City also plans to run an intensive education course as a follow up to the lectures. This course will develop a human infrastructure for promoting creative city projects.
