Bucheon City hosted the Forum on the Convergence of Culture Industries and Creativity on December 18 to discuss ways to foster system to support local entrepreneurship and promote virtuous cycle of its growth and innovation, taking a strategic approach to mobilize industrialization of culture.
Related officials of Bucheon Municipal Government, Gyeonggi Provincial Content Agency, Korea Manhwa Contents Agency, Gyeonggi Job Foundation, Bucheon Industry Promotion Agency, and others involved in the culture and creativity industries gathered together for this occasion.
As best practices, Taehoon Lee, CEO of Seoul Start-up Hub presented the operating strategies of Seoul Start-up Hub, and Heo Je, CEO of N15 Hardware Industry, start-up incubating company presented ways to vitalize Makerspaces.

In the second half of the forum, each participating agency shared its 2020 major initiatives to foster local contents industry and creators, along with Bucheon city’s business support programs. Ideas of hosting a joint recruitment fair, a makers competition to support business star-ups, and providing support for the accreditation of intellectual property rights were exchanged, and will be pushed forward from next year.

In closing, the demonstration event to help bring investment for contents industry was held, and 4 contents investment companies in the city participated.
Bucheon Forum on the Convergence of Culture and Creativity, which was launched June 2019, serves as a platform to bring public and private sectors together and formulate policies to foster the creative sector and build environment where young and talented entrepreneurs reside and work in the city, bringing more opportunities to develop culture products.
