The results of the Bucheon storytelling contest for short-film/web-drama scenarios or completed visuals dealing with scary stories, designed to boost environment for content creation and invite creative persons to be engaged in transforming words into visuals, were announced.
Out of about 200 entries, 9 scenarios and 10 completed visuals were selected. The scenario category winners are given prize money (from 10,000,000 KRW to a maximum of 15,000,000 KRW per work) to make the selected scripts into short films, which will be presented in Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival to be held in 2021. For the winners of the completed visual category, prize money up to 1,000,000 KRW are awarded.
According to the Jury, they encountered various themes from nightmares, confessions, murders, to Neopolitan horror stories. Their judging panel prioritized stories and visuals that are most appropriate for the horror genre over other areas such as missenscene, acting, and script itself.
