UNESCO Creative City Bucheon Storytelling Contest Project
Bucheon is home for the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival targeting specific genre films such as horror, thriller, fantasy, action, black comedy, and sci-fi. The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival Office has been collecting scary, spooky and spine-chilling ghost stories around the world that stimulate our imagination and are a great source for film adaptation.
The Bucheon storytelling contest project, designed to boost environment for content creation and to invite creative persons to be engaged in creative works transforming words into visuals, was held in May and opened a call for scary tales in cooperation with the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival Office. 30 stories were selected out of about 1, 200 entries from the competition call, which will be published in both Korean and English in July.
As the second round of the project, the BIFAN office has opened a call for short-film/web-drama scenarios or completed visuals(less than 3 minutes) based on the 30 selected scary tales from the Bucheon storytelling contest or the scary tale that each applicant already knows or has created. Grant will be provided to the selected scenarios and visuals. The deadline of the call is June 25.
We are very much looking forward to discovering new talents and content with this project!
